This is not just a job, it’s a responsibility to people, property, and policy.
The Housing Authority of Jackson County (HAJC) is seeking a Site Manager for Cathedral Square, a multifamily affordable housing property. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-accountability, people-centered work, balancing compassion with clear policy enforcement, handling lease compliance, supporting tenants, and making sure the property is safe, clean, and welcoming every single day.
If you're someone who takes ownership, responds with professionalism under pressure, and wants to make a meaningful difference where you live and work, this might be the right role for you.
Be the face of the property. You’ll interact with tenants daily—answering questions, resolving complaints, and supporting lease compliance in a calm, fair, and respectful manner.
Support lease-up and move-ins. Show units, assist with forms, check tenants into units, and educate them on housekeeping and property standards.
Oversee community upkeep. Walk the grounds regularly, flag hazards, post notices, conduct inspections, and perform light maintenance (like changing lightbulbs or alarm batteries).
Respond to emergencies. Use sound judgment during conflicts or crises. Be ready to mediate disputes, call in reinforcements, or escalate serious issues to the Portfolio Manager.
Document everything. You’ll monitor lease compliance, issue notices, track rent payments, log maintenance issues, and report lease violations clearly and promptly.
Promote community. You’ll help maintain a safe, respectful, and stable environment where tenants feel supported and property standards are upheld.
Are emotionally grounded, professional, and calm under pressure.
Can juggle multiple priorities while staying organized and on deadline.
Know how to explain complex rules in a way that builds understanding—not resentment.
Are comfortable navigating difficult conversations and enforcing policies with tact.
Take pride in a well-maintained property and are ready to get hands-on with light maintenance and safety checks.
Understand that your work is often the difference between housing success and housing instability, for real people.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of experience in property management, housing programs, or a related field preferred.
Strong understanding of landlord-tenant laws, occupancy standards, and public housing compliance.
Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and digital.
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (Oregon license required within 30 days of hire).
